On 5 December 2007 Orco Property Group, an investor, developer and asset manager in the Central European real estate and hospitality market, received a building permit for their flagship project Złota 44.
The 192-metre-tall tower, designed by the Polish-born architect Daniel Libeskind, will be erected on the former City Center shopping mall site. The impressive 54-floor structure will be home to 251 fully finished and equipped apartments with amenities including a concierge service, sundeck, 25-metre swimming-pool and sauna. Also the landscape around the tower will be regenerated.
Building construction will last 28 months and the first residents are expected to move in during 2010.
